Understanding Self-Servicing for volunteers

Self-Servicing is the feature in Volunteer Plus which enables volunteers to:

  • Login
  • Register
  • Update their profile
  • Register their interest in opportunities

Self-servicing is delivered by using the Volunteer Plus API. This can be done by using one of our dedicated volunteering websites or integrating the API into your existing website.

Once the API is set up, volunteers can register online, express their interest in opportunities and log in to their account to update their information.

How does Self-Servicing look?

The screenshot below is from the Volunteer Essex website and demonstrate self-servicing on a dedicated volunteering website:

A notification can be sent to your Volunteer Centre team when a volunteer registers online using the E-mail Notifications. A welcome e-mail can also be sent to the volunteer using the E-mail Templates.

Sending a new password

To send a new password, click Send new password when viewing a volunteer under the Self-servicing section.
