Updating the status for an opportunity

In Volunteer Plus opportunities can have one of four statuses:

• Draft: the opportunity is not currently available and information is still being finalised.
• Active: the opportunity is available for volunteers to register their interest in.
• Inactive: the opportunity is no longer available for volunteers to register their interest in.
• Expired: the opportunity has reached its Advertising End Date and is no longer available.

It is easy to update the status once an opportunity has been created. To update the status, in the Advertising section simply click the Change Status button and select the new status.

When an opportunity reaches it’s Advertising End Date the opportunity status will automatically change to Expired. An automated process is run daily in Volunteer Plus which checks all opportunity Advertising End Dates overnight.
